The Fourth Thursday in November

On Thursday and Friday of this week, OptiFuse will be closed.  Our incredible team is taking the time away from the office to be with ones they love and/or doing the things they love to do.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving; a day to rejoice and give thanks.  It’s comforting to take a moment out of our busy lives and reflect upon all that is praiseworthy in this world...

It’s easy to sometimes forget that is so much good but instead concentrate on the bad.  This is especially true if you read or watch the news each day.  Most of the good news in this world goes unreported...so we generally pay no attention...but good news is out there and it is the rule not the exception.

Here are a few things that I’m thankful today, tomorrow and the days to follow...

I am so thankful for a wonderful family who are all there to support me through the good times and bad.  People say you can’t choose your family...rather only your friends...but I wouldn’t have chosen any different even if I were able to...

I am thankful for the abundance of people I call friends.  An old adage tells of being fortunate if you can count your friends on one hand.  For me... I feel that would be possible only if I had more than 100 fingers on that hand.  My friends are located in every state and on every continent of the globe and I am overjoyed when I get to share time with them...be it in person or from afar...

I am especially thankful of one special friend, Susan, who I hope to share as much of the rest of my life with as possible.  She is truly my best friend in the entire world and I am not afraid to tell the world that I love her very much...

I am thankful of the phenomenal people I work with each day.  The very best thing about being the "boss"....is that I get to choose the people I work with...I believe that I have chosen well.  They are the best and the brightest.  They work hard every day to try and make tomorrow a little better for all of us.

I am thankful for this great country that I live in.  When someone looks for fault, they are sure to find it and there are many shortcomings of America for certain.  However, considering my alternatives, I am thankful for being endowed with the certain unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I am thankful of the young men and women who help to protect these rights and fight for rights of others.  I wish them safety and security as they spend their Thanksgiving away from loved ones.

Lastly, I am most thankful to you, our customers, suppliers, reps, and supporters.  You are the reason that we’re here today and the reason we’ll be here tomorrow.

As you re-read the paragraphs above, you might notice that this Thanksgiving, I am most thankful for the people in my life..not the things.

I came to this realization several years ago...

Over the past 30 years, I have had the most unimaginable opportunity to travel the world and see so many places.  What I most often found when I went to these places was that it was people...not places that made my journeys memorable and special...

May the future bring you peace and shared memories.

Thank you very much for being a part of OptiFuse as we make the journey together...
