Break-Away Fuse Blocks?

Both Bussmann and Littelfuse have offered a break-away fuse block for glass tube fuses for many years.  Typically, these fuse blocks come in 12 positions with the ability to break apart the blocks into smaller sections however once the block is broken, there is no way to put the block back together.  It can also create an inventory nightmare as bigger blocks are broken up into smaller section blocks.  Lastly, when using Bussmann or Littelfuse fuse blocks, you are limited to 12 positions (unless you have a way to mount multiple fuse block sections).

LF 354 Series

Littelfuse 354 Series

OptiFuse has a solution to all of these problems with its BLC-20 fuse block.  This fuse block is a single pole sectional fuse block that allows as many positions to be snapped together as needed (kind of like Lego blocks).  One part number in inventory is all that is needed to make a single position fuse block or a 100 position fuse block.

Additionally the blocks come in two different varieties - the BLC-20A for 1/4" x 1 1/4" and the BLC-20C for 5 x 20mm fuses.  Both blocks can be snapped together and are interchangeable allowing the user to use both standard and metric type fuses in the same fuse block assembly.

The Bussmann part is the S-8000 series  (there are many different configurations so I can’t give you an exact Bussmann cross).  The S-8000 series is only available for standard 1/4" x 1 1/4" fuses.

The Littelfuse part is the 354 series for standard 1/4" x 1 1/4" fuses and the 520 series for metric 5 x 20 mm fuses (once again there are several configurations so I can’t give you an exact cross to Littelfuse)

Once again...did I mention that that OptiFuse part was also less expensive than our two major counterparts?...

In summary:

OptiFuse’s glass tube fuse block is more versatile, simpler to use and inventory, and less expensive than our competition...same old story.

Thank you so much for your continued support of OptiFuse as we try to develop solutions to common problems.
