Switching Circuit Breakers

Many times a design requires a method to power on and off a device.  In most cases, this involves some kind of switch.

In addition to a switch, most (if not all) equipment need some form of overcurrent protection (as well as some kind of over-voltage protection...but I’ll save that for another day), such as a fuse or circuit breaker.

OptiFuse is the answer to both problems in one small cost-effective package.  Introducing the OptiFuse CBR switch / circuit breaker.

CBR Circuit Breaker

The CBR switch / circuit breaker is available with a multitude of features / benefits allowing it to be used in a wide variety of applications.  Some of those features include:

  • Voltages ratings are available in 250 and 125 VAC and 12 and 24 VDC.
  • Current ratings are available from 2 to 20A including fractional ratings for precise circuit protection.
  • The switch is a single pole / single throw design tested up to 6,000 on/off operations at fully-rated current.
  • The body and switch actuator are available in various colors for complete customization at no additional charge.
  • The body is a snap-in design that fits in most common switch cut-outs.
  • The actuator is available with or without an indicating neon lamp.
  • The CBR can operate effectively in ambient temperatures ranging from -40° C to +85° C
The overcurrent protection of the CBR allows protection against short-circuits and overloads up to 1000A @ 250 VAC and 2000A @ 125 VAC.
Typical applications for the  CBR switch / circuit breaker include:  Motors, transformers, vending machines, household and commercial appliances, office equipment, automotive instrumentation, surge suppressors and power centers, factory automation equipment and HVAC.

The CBR carries UL / CUL recognition as well as a variety of international safety approvals including TUV, CCC, CNS, KSA and VDE.

The best feature of the CBR is its competitive pricing especially when compared to the multiple components that it replaces. (end-user pricing starting around $1.25)

Considering versatility, performance, and price, the OptiFuse CBR cannot be beat...
