TPK-R Fuses: Reliable Protection for Industrial & Commercial Circuits

A close-up view of the OptiFuse TPK-R time-delay fuse, designed for surge protection in industrial and commercial branch circuits.

Starting up motors, solenoids, or control transformers often comes with a momentary surge of current that can trip an ordinary fuse. The OptiFuse TPK-R fuse is built to handle that surge with ease.

As a UL Class CC time-delay fuse, the TPK-R keeps branch circuits protected without nuisance blowing during inrush. It also provides true current-limiting performance, cutting off fault currents before they can reach their destructive peak. This reduces thermal and magnetic stress on downstream equipment and helps extend the life of contactors, breakers, and wiring.

Its compact 13/32″ × 1-1/2″ (10 × 38 mm) size fits neatly into standard fuse blocks like BPK-R-I-500, and its high interrupt rating makes it suitable for demanding industrial and commercial settings.

Built for the job:

  • Voltage ratings: 600VAC, 600VDC (100mA–800mA), 300VDC (9A–30A)
  • Current ratings: 100mA to 30A
  • Interrupt capacity: Up to 200kA AC, 50kA DC (low-amp), 10kA DC (high-amp)
  • Standards: UL Listed (UL 248-4), CSA certified, RoHS/REACH compliant

Perfect for:

  • Industrial control panels that need to handle high-inrush motor starts
  • Commercial equipment that must tolerate startup surges without compromise
  • Branch-circuit protection that limits fault energy to protect wiring and devices

With the TPK-R fuse, you get both protection and performance right out of the box. Learn more about Industrial Fuses and How They Protect Your Systems and see our Fuse Selection Guide for complete context.

Our recommended holders/blocks

  • BPK-R-500 series Class CC fuse blocks offer 1-,2-,and 3-pole options for single-phase or 3-phase panels, or consolidating multiple circuits. They are engineered with a compact
  • footprint and finger-safe terminals that offer a clean, professional look in control cabinets.
  • With blown-fuse indication: BPK-R-I-500 variants speed troubleshooting by lighting when a fuse opens.
  • Mounting: DIN-rail or panel-mount (screws)

Important selection on TPK-R holder selection

Use Class CC–rated holders to preserve safety, listings, and performance. Although some 10×38 “midget” holders may physically accept a 13/32″ × 1-1/2″ fuse, they don’t include the Class CC rejection feature. Without that safeguard, a future service swap could introduce a non-Class-CC fuse with a lower interrupt rating, reducing SCCR and compromising safety. Class CC holders prevent this by design: the rejection feature accepts only Class CC fuses like TPK-R, so the protection you specified stays intact over the life of the equipment.
