Regional Sales Manager – Automotive Aftermarket

About Triad Components Group

Triad Components Group, home to OptiFuse and Switch Components, is a growing supplier of electrical and electronic components serving the automotive aftermarket and transportation industries.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to help accelerate our growth throughout the United States, with additional responsibility for select Canadian customers and markets.

This is a unique opportunity for an established automotive aftermarket sales professional to play a significant role in expanding our customer base, strengthening existing relationships, increasing product distribution, and developing new market opportunities.

The Opportunity

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth within the light-duty and heavy-duty transportation markets, working with automotive warehouse distributors (WDs), buying groups, co-ops, retailers, independent sales representatives, and other key aftermarket customers.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of selling within the automotive aftermarket and will bring an established understanding of the distribution channel and the relationships required to succeed.

This is a growth-oriented, highly autonomous sales position. The RSM will be expected to identify opportunities, develop new business, expand existing accounts, and work collaboratively with customers and sales partners to increase the market presence of the OptiFuse and Switch Components brands.

The successful candidate will have two primary objectives:

1. Develop new customers and new business opportunities.

2. Grow sales and product penetration within our existing customer base.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies designed to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities with automotive warehouse distributors, buying groups, co-ops, retailers, and other aftermarket customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers throughout customer organizations.
  • Expand existing customer relationships by increasing product distribution, SKU penetration, and overall share of wallet.
  • Travel regularly to customer locations to develop relationships, present opportunities, conduct business reviews, and close sales.
  • Work directly with distributor sales personnel to identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Monitor competitive activity, market trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
Distributor & Sales Representative Development
  • Develop, manage, and maintain an effective independent sales representative network.
  • Build strong relationships with distributor sales personnel and provide the training, tools, and product knowledge necessary to support sales growth.
  • Provide product training, application information, and sales support to distributor and representative sales teams.
  • Work with distributors and sales representatives to develop programs that increase product awareness, distribution, and sales performance.
Pricing, Promotions & Sales Programs
  • Maintain and implement customer pricing strategies and promotional programs.
  • Develop and manage sales incentive programs for key distributors and buying groups.
  • Work with customers to develop programs that generate incremental sales and long-term business growth.
  • Monitor pricing, margins, competitive positioning, and overall account profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product placement, distribution, and merchandising.
Market & Product Development
  • Analyze potential new markets, customers, applications, and product opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce existing products into new applications and customer channels.
  • Identify gaps in the marketplace and communicate potential product opportunities to management.
  • Provide ongoing feedback regarding market trends, customer requirements, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.
Industry Representation
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Triad Components Group, OptiFuse, and Switch Components.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, buying group meetings, and trade association events.
  • Develop and maintain a strong professional network throughout the automotive aftermarket.
  • Conduct customer and distributor presentations and product training as required.
Territory & Account Management
  • Manage a primarily U.S.-based territory, with additional responsibility for select Canadian customers and markets.
  • Develop annual and long-term territory growth plans.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales information.
  • Manage travel, entertainment, and other business expenses within established company budgets and guidelines.
  • Provide regular sales activity reports, forecasts, and business updates to management.
Qualifications

Required

  • Proven field sales experience within the light-duty and/or heavy-duty automotive aftermarket.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and growing existing customer accounts.
  • Established relationships with automotive warehouse distributors, buying groups, retailers, co-ops, or related aftermarket customers.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive aftermarket distribution channel.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a large territory remotely.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time throughout the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada.

Preferred

  • Experience selling electrical, circuit protection, fuse, fuse holder, switch, or related automotive products.
  • Existing relationships with major automotive aftermarket distributors and buying groups.
  • Experience working with independent sales representative networks.
  • Experience developing distributor sales programs, promotions, and incentive programs.
  • Experience in both light-duty and heavy-duty automotive markets.
  • Existing relationships within the U.S. automotive aftermarket.
